Who need to take 10 meg photo with mobile phone?
Just read "World's First 10 Megapixel Camera Phone" and we can realize the competition is too much nowadays.
Camera phone is just for fun or simple visual records. I believe that no one would take serious photo with the camera phone (or camphone in short). The photo-taking function is just a kind of gimmick and the overall design of mobile phone cannot be performed well photographically.
However, the bigger the better is something needed for promotion and not necessarily required. Perhaps we may choose something bigger if the price is comparable.
Bigger size of image requires bigger storage and longer time to transmit. That is not wihtou cost. No only the bandwidth will count, our own time would be another cost.
As I have said, it is not easy to control the subject and composition by using camphone. Any bigger size will make our mistakes more pronouncing and that is why photos taken with camphone may not be printed at all. So why bother to buy a higher resolution when we just view the image on mobile phone or the PC monitor?
One thing I may miss is the mentality of young ones. May be a bit bigger with something would make one more important or modern. In that way, price is not a factor at all. Photos are not important too. It is better to keep the function as a function in hand.
